ISLAND OF THE HUMAN HEART: A WOMAN’S TRAVEL ODYSSEY

by Laurie Gough

FOR REVIEWS AND INFO, SEE KITE STRINGS OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS

Island of the Human Heart is the Canadian title for Kite Strings of the Southern Cross. Confusing, I know, but the Canadian publisher, Turnstone Press, wouldn’t allow me to keep the Kite Strings title since they thought Canadians would think the book was about the Klu Klux Klan. If anyone has actually ever shied away from Kite Strings of the Southern Cross: A Woman’s Travel Odyssey because they feared the book dealt with sadistic men in white robes, I’d love to hear from them so we can straighten this out.

However, the lovely cover of Island of the Human Heart, of the Fijian women floating on the water, was painted by my friend, artist Reva Pomer in Toronto.
